NASHVILLE'S TRACK ONE
Posted by Jason Kaplan on

On November 19-20, for the first time ever, we’re taking American Field to Nashville, TN! Our hosts for the weekend are the wonderful team at Track One!

Located just two miles from downtown Nashville and five minutes from Vanderbilt University, Track One houses over 20 local businesses and galleries. However, its story begins over 185 years ago.

Beginning in 1828, railroad fever struck hard in East Tennessee. A man named Dr. J. G. M. Ramsey of Knoxville, TN proposed a rail connection between South Carolina and his home state. Years later, the Nashville and Decatur line ran from Nashville through Columbia to Tennessee's southern border, where it connected with other railroads.

As the railroad thrived, a warehouse was constructed to serve as a feed & seed facility for regional farming communities. This building ultimately became Track One.

Today, Track One is part of the revitalized Wedgewood-Houston arts district.

Be sure to look for the original rail lines when you visit American Field Nashville!
